Java Developer (Contract)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Country: UK Rate: £400 - £410 per day + Inside IR35
 

Gibbs Hybrid are supporting a world leading IT services client in their search for an experienced Java Developer who has experience working within government/public sector roles.
We're seeking an experienced Java developer for an ongoing project for a public sector client. Some experience working with older style monolithic applications is desirable, but also experienced with more modern techniques and skills like pipelines and docker.

Location: Based in Newcastle, ideally 2 days/week on client site
Day rate: £400-£410 per day (inside IR35) - Non-negotiable
Length: 6-12 month contract

The Developer will play a crucial role within a Scrum team, focusing on delivering development tasks aligned with the product backlog of their squad. With a commitment to building user-centric and accessible software, the team aims to meet users' needs effectively. Daily responsibilities include writing, adapting, and maintaining code, along with providing ongoing support. Moreover, the Developer will actively contribute to enhancing the service by implementing new tools and techniques. A passion for tackling technical challenges and offering insights on design feasibility is essential for success in this role.

Requirements
* Public sector/government experience is imperative
* Minimum 3-5 Years Experience Node.js, HTML, CSS, Javascript.
* Cross-browser compatibility.
* Awareness and experience of implementing accessibility-compliant (WCAG) solutions. Automated testing, for Performance and Accessibility.
* Experience working within Agile teams/frameworks.
