Lead SQL Developer (Permanent)

Location: Glasgow Country: UK Rate: £50k - £70k

Lead SQL Developer
1 day a month in Glasgow
Up to £70,000

Bright Purple are continuing to work with one of the world's most advanced AI satellite imagery companies. They have a footprint across Europe and the USA. We've helped them grow their UK tech hub over recent years, and excitingly they are growing the Data Engineering team on this side of the pond! In the USA, they are the leading provider of housing based satellite imagery data and senior representatives from the organisation regularly meet with the White House, and provide expert industry analysis to major news outlets - pretty cool right!
As you can imagine, they have an extremely high-calibre data infrastructure, given the demands placed upon it by their work. So, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing their cloud based (AWS) data infrastructure whilst your expertise in SQL Server query optimization and performance tuning will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of their data systems.

Key Experience:

- Strong SQL Server
- T-SQL
- Experience of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or GCP
- Programming knowledge ie C# or Python
- Agile DevOps

You'd be working closely with their Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists and Product Engineers to ensure that their data architecture is fit for requirements, and also explore how new and emerging database or streaming technologies can boost their operations.
They meet up once a month in the Glasgow office, and the role offers £50-70k DoE. They have a strong benefits package on top of this, and aside from once monthly meet ups, you'll be good to go from anywhere in the UK!

The other perks include (but are not limited to!):

Health and well-being perks
Excellent holidays
Great pension
Top of the range hardware

Bright Purple is an equal opportunities employer: we are proud to work with clients who share our values of diversity and inclusion in our industry.
