Linux Support Specialist

Rate: £500-550 per day
IR35 Status: Inside

We require a Linux Support Specialist experience for our higher education and be a part of a small team packaging complex software for our 400 PC Linux teaching labs, which are running Red-Hat 8 derivative Rocky Linux 8.

Essential Skills:

Strong Bash Scripting knowledge is essential, ability to write new and adapt existing scripts will be vital.
Experience with packaging tools would be highly beneficial as would working in a centrally managed and configuration environment.
3+ years of specialist Linux desktop and server support and 5+ years in IT desirable.
Red-Hat/Ubuntu systems admin knowledge is essential with GUI configuration knowledge desirable.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively both as part of a team and in isolation whilst troubleshooting issues is essential.
