Role Overview:
Outsource UK are Seeking a Software Maintenance Design Engineer to lead software analysis and support strategy development in accordance with BAE Systems processes. This role involves solo and collaborative work under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct software analysis for COTS, bespoke, and Modified COTS products to develop support strategies.
  • Generate system and equipment level reports, ensuring compliance with software support requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and participate in collaborative working groups.
  • Provide expert advice on software support within the ILS community.
  • Manage documentation related to software support processes and standards.
  • Deliver software analyses at system and equipment levels and formulate software support strategies.
  • Engage in Customer and Industry Partner Working Groups offering software support perspectives.
  • Serve as a software support SME to ILS stakeholders.

Professional Expertise Required:
  • Extensive Support Engineering experience with a strong focus on complex systems analysis.
  • Chartered Engineer status or similar qualifications in ILS software support/engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of JSP 935, DefStan 00-055, IEC 61508 beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Proficient in logistics, maintenance design, and support & test equipment.
  • Expert in data management, RCM analysis, maintenance solution determination, and stakeholder negotiations.
