We have an urgent requirement for an experienced Senior Data Engineer who has exposure to architecture to join a global organisation operating within the Life Sciences sector (this position could also be called an Associate Information Architect). You will be reporting into an IA Lead, focusing on managing and optimising the company's data to ensure it is well-organised, secure, and effectively supports business needs.
Key Responsibilities/experience:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with significant exposure to data architecture.
- Proven experience with Snowflake data platform.
- Experience with ETL tools and processes.
- Data modelling experience is key.
- Familiarity with data governance and data security principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into data solutions.
- Define and manage the company's key data structures and strategies, ensuring consistency across different business units and projects.
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and efficient data models. Ensure data architecture aligns with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into Snowflake - Ensure data is accessible and usable for analytics and reporting.
- Work with business functions and project teams to meet data needs.
- Promote and guide technology choices to enhance data architecture.
- Familiarity with data regulations and compliance.
- Understanding of IT architecture principles.
- Knowledge of data platforms and cloud technologies.
- Collaborate closely with various IT teams and data governance teams to support the development of data products such as Data Mesh and analytical solutions.
