Our client are a top tier consulting firm looking for an Mobile Technical Architect (Android SDK) on a 6 months contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable and efficient architecture for Android applications.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead the development of complex features and enhancements.
• Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to development teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve development efficiency and application performance.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience as an Android Developer, with a strong portfolio of released applications on the Google Play Store.
• Proven experience as an Android Architect or in a similar senior technical role.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages.
• Deep understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and Back End integration.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, or MVI.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Knowledge of mobile app security best practices and principles.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
• Familiarity with the principles of material design.
• Knowledge of third-party libraries and APIs.
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Understanding of UX/UI design principles and ability to collaborate with design teams.
• Previous experience with multi-module Android projects.
