Core Server Side Java Developer - FX & Rates (Contract)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £650 - £700 per day + Inside IR35
 

We're seeking to recruit a Java Developer to join the FX & Rates team at an international investment bank, where you'll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

You'll be part of a team working on a large, globally distributed, high availability FX Reference Rate System, tackling complex challenges and driving innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Work closely with various technical and business stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Timely Delivery: Deliver project requirements efficiently and effectively, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Code Quality: Adhere to code quality standards and provide fault-tolerant solutions that align with the architecture's principles.

Skills:

  • Core Java including threading, threading safety, asynchronous programming and design patterns
  • Linux
  • NoSQL Database Cassandra (preferred) and Oracle are highly desirable.

Previous experience working in a financial institution, particularly in Front Office IT, is advantageous. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential. Experience in Agile methodologies is preferred.
