Software Engineer (Contract)

Location: Lancashire Country: UK Rate: £45 - £53 per hour + Outside IR35
 

Overview: Tiro Partners are looking for Software Engineers, to help prototype future cockpit and avionics designs, develop the Project X Active Cockpit simulator, and work closely with engineers from Project X.

Duration: 12 months (OUTSIDE IR35)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software for the Project X Active Cockpit simulator
  • Own requirements, design, implementation, and testing
  • Integrate COTS hardware/software and design technical solutions
  • Produce technical documentation and manage technical risk
  • Support customers and resolve system issues
  • Mentor team members and refine development processes
  • Develop system architectures to meet IT/security requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Strong C++ programming in Visual Studio
  • Experience with Mercurial and configuration control tools
  • Proactive, creative thinker with strong initiative
  • Security Clearance required

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in task leading and QMS documentation
  • Mentoring and team management experience
  • Knowledge of Linux, avionics, and mission systems
  • Familiarity with Jira and simulation interoperability standards (HLA/DIS/Link16)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Interest in military aircraft
