Description: The Defense and Intelligence Group at Leidos has an immediate opportunity for a Data Architect to join a team responsible for transforming the application footprint of the Air Force from Legacy data centers to commercial cloud environments in AWS and Azure. Ability to work anywhere in the USA, this is a remote position.
Leidos is looking for a Data Architect to design and implement high performance, scalable cloud based solutions for large volume data ingestion, clean-up, and processing that meet the needs of the Air Force. The individual must have experience with implementing data solutions across a wide variety of cloud based tools and technologies and integrating them with the architecture used across the enterprise.
The Enterprise Data Architect (EDA) is responsible to deliver an architecture for the next generation data services for the Air Force. They will work with the government to document, gather requirements, and develop solutions for the full service Air Force logistics data environment. The end state is a data services environment that produces consistency, timeliness, quality, security and delivery of data. In addition, the EDA must streamline data flows and remove unnecessary costs from the complex, fragmented, heterogeneous data architecture. The EDA's responsibilities include:
Create a modern data lake: Provide an approach to use cloud native solutions provide direct and virtual access to the data in the enterprise data environment
Mapping data sources: Provide a data source architecture, and identify data is stored and maintained is essential to data architecture.
Documenting interfaces and data movement: Provide solutions to drive frequency of movement, the source and destination of each step, how the data is transformed as it moves, and any aggregation or calculations.
Designing the movement of data through the enterprise: Design data flows thru the Enterprise.
Defining integrative views of data: Work with business people and application designers to identify and model these integrative views and determine the quality of service requirements, data currency, availability, response times and data volumes
Defining technical standards and guidelines: Define Data architecture standards and ensure that standards are up to date by investigating emerging technologies and new releases.
Managing related metadata: Define metadata to include business descriptions of the data, details of any calculations or summaries, descriptions of the sources of the data, and indications of data quality and currency.
Communicating the data architecture: Communicating the benefits of the enterprise data architecture, directed to a range of government stakeholders, the development community, IT operations, and IT management at all levels. The EDA must acquire information from these groups to focus the architecture to meet business and IT needs. Provide a high-level (executive-level) and detailed data services architecture.
Build solutions for Enhanced Cloud Native Services: Provide solutions using cloud native services for:
Enterprise Data Lake
Data Virtualization
Data Quality
Data Management
Refactoring applications
Business Analytics
Bachelor s Degree with 15-20 years relevant experience, Masters with years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with years of prior relevant experience.
12-15 years of IT architecture experience.
5 to 10 years of Data Architecture experience within the 12 to 15 years of IT architecture experience.
Active Secret Clearance required.
Cloud certification (AWS/Azure/Cloud+) etc.
No 8570 certs are really necessary.
